Kathy McNeil Workshop

January 13, 2012

One of the best things about being a member of the Clark County Quilter's Guild is being able to take advantage of classes offered by visiting teachers.  Kathy McNeil spoke at the guild meeting on Thursday evening and showed a very enthusiastic audience her wonderful work.  I then had the opportunity to take her Landscapes class the next day.

Kathy is a funny, down-to-earth teacher who is very encouraging to all levels of quilters.  She showed slides with detail views of her work and explained step-by-step how she creates such realism in her pieces.  Kathy then spent time with each student discussing their vision for their quilt.  In the afternoon, Kathy demonstrated how she paints and embellishes her pieces in order to add even more realism.  It was a day well spent - thank you so much, Kathy!!!
